In 1988, Maurice graduated as an industrial design engineer at the Delft University of Technology. Already in his graduation project, developing a professional fully automatic coffee machine, he set course to become an overall designer, not only doing the aesthetical design of the housing but also engineering an innovative new brewing system.
In the following period Maurice worked at the Delft based design, engineering and research company VHK. Since a lot of projects involved improving energy efficiency of household appliances, he was able to extend his experience in working on both design and engineering issues. Some examples: portable espresso coffee machine working on disposable gas cartridges / natural gas operated absorption refrigerator, combined with a central heating boiler, supplying domestic hot water for free / laundry washing an drier using district heating as an energy source / several lighting fixtures / ultra compact central heating combi boiler and more...
In 2001 Maurice joined the Indes design team. Soon he started specialising in the medical field working as the integrator on large scale multidisciplinary projects like the "
Fluido" blood heater and the "
Airdrive" donor organ transport system. Working on these projects, Maurice extended the Indes know how on designing, engineering and producing complex medical disposables. In 2005 Maurice shifted part of his attention to managing the Indes design team. Because of his knowledge and experience, Maurice makes important contributes to the
"Medical & Care" and
"Design & Engineering" competence groups.
