HTS BeSafe

The iZi Sleep is the first group 0+ Child Restraint System (CRS) that combines safety & comfort for all users.

Develop a differentiated and safe CRS with lying position, suitable for short belts! This was the assignment from HTS BeSafe to Indes. The new CRS should give HTS BeSafe an innovative product to meet the competition with the ruling brands. Indes designed a car safety seat with a safe sitting position for transportation in the car and a comfortable lying position for use outside the car. The patented belt routing and belt tensioner of the iZi Sleep are essential parts of the development.

Indes managed this project from idea until the first series production. The project started with a product benchmark and user tests. This resulted in the design of a car safety seat with lying position combined with guaranteed safety in crash situations. Scenario based design and a proven safety concept were used to optimise the concept in terms of parents’ and child’s comfort and safety.

HTS BeSafe asked Indes to escort the production start-up. Due to Indes’ experience in production start ups HTS BeSafe was able to easily take over the running production. The iZi Sleep grants HTS BeSafe a new opportunity for establishing a stronger position in the CRS market.
